Whoo HOO!!!

Start The Car!!

The above link is a reenactment of one Miss Doris E. Murphy cashing out at the Halifax Casino!

So, Ralph and I decided to go out to supper tonight instead of last night because of the storm (which we didn't get by the way), and then we went to the casino. Picked San up on the way and off we went each with our $20.00 clutched in our sweaty little hands. Long story short, within the same two minute span I won $612.00 and Ralph won $625.00. Can you beleive it?????? We have never won anything at the casino and we both won on the same night. It must be the luck of the Irish on St. Patrick's Day.

And yes, I did walk out like the IKEA lady yelling "Start the car, start the car" just in case there had been a mistake and they tried to take it back. :)

Nor'Easter on the way

Well here it is our Anniversary again. Here is a picture of the roses Ralph gave me. Thirty-three years today. Gosh, we are getting old I guess. We are being told that there is a nasty nor'easter on the way so we decided not to go out to dinner tonight as we planned but to stay at home tonight and go out tomorrow, St. Patrick's Day. We are going to go to the casino and have supper there and blow some money on the slot machines. There will probably be some Irish entertainment going on also.

Ralph and I took the girls and Joe to lunch today and then they went back to work. I just got off the treadmill. I did four miles. I am training to do the 1/2 marathon (13.1 miles) at the Bluenose Marathon here in Halifax at the end of May. San and I are doing the 1/2 and we hope to walk/run it in about 3.5 hours. I'll let you know how it goes.

Mom is doing well at Mary's Abide a While. She seems to have settled in and made some friends. I went down and took her out for lunch and a little shopping last Saturday. Healthwise she is doing very well. I have asked her to come here for Easter weekend and she has agreed.

While I was down there last Saturday I went down to the house to get a few things that I was taking as the house is going to be sold so everything has to be taken out. It was really hard to go in there. It was very sad to see it so empty and cold. I know that everything changes but it is really hard to say goodbye to your childhood home.

Must go and get out of my workout clothes and see about starting supper. At least the snow has not started yet. See ya later.

Spring is coming!!

Hello everybody. Here is a photo of San's apartment living room after she moved in. It looks a little better than in the last pictures. Ralph and I stopped in for a few minutes yesterday and then we went to see Joe and Trish. We played bowling (me) and baseball (Ralph) with their new Wii. It is a lot of fun. I beat Trish at bowling but neither Ralph or Trish could do much in baseball :)

It is another beautiful day here today. Yesterday it was about 7 degrees and beautiful sun and today it is 10 degrees and sunny again. I think that Spring is finally well on the way. The older I get the longer winters seem to be. I think that I need to move to Florida or somewhere else warm.

Ralph is out in the garage trying to clean Jake up. He just took him for a walk and with all of the mud thawing he comes back with his belly and legs just full of mud. I had to leave him out in the garage to dry off the last time we walked.

I will be going to Shelburne again next Saturday. San has her clinic and I will go visit with Mom. Maybe we can get out again and go for lunch or something. I leave tomorrow for Fredericton but Ralph will not have time to miss me. He is curling..I think that he said four games tomorrow, three on Tuesday and one on Wednesday. He will spend what time he is home in the whirlpool tub with epsom salts I'm sure:)

Have a good week everyone and I'll post again soon.
