Hello there

Yes I know it's been a while. You must remember I do not lead the most exciting life so sometimes I have to really dig to come up with something, anything, to write about. Let me see...what has been going on.

Flo and Fred were here about a week or so ago. They are trading in their speedboat for a pontoon boat which will look something like the picture on the left. I know Flo and Fred that it will not look exactly like this but I just wanted to show those who do not know what a pontoon boat is what it looks like.
What else....Ralph was in a curling bonspiel on the weekend and he went to Ottawa yesterday. He is going to go to an NFL game tomorrow night and he will fly home on Thursday.
Ralph and I went down to Shelburne for the day on Saturday. We picked Mom up at the care facility where she now resides and we took her out to lunch and then to Velvet's for a visit of a few hours. It is the first time she has been out of the hospital or the home since October. She had a good day and it did not seem to tire her out too much. I am going down again on March 10th with San when she goes down for her clinic.
I am going to Fredericton next Monday for a conference. I am going with two other ladies from work. We will come back either Wednesday night or early Thursday. Ralph will be on his own here which will be a switch.
I will post some pictures of San's new, finished apartment in my next post.

Doris and Ralph the Molly Maids

Yes you might very well wonder what that title means. Well.....as you know San is trying to move out and into her own apartment. Before she could move in however some work had to be done in the place. Namely, the carpet was ripped up in her living room and the tile from her dining/kitchen area and it was all replaced with laminate. She had to go and buy all of the laminate (reimbursed for the cost of course) and all of the other supplies the renovators needed and truck it up to her third floor flat...no elevator of course. We are talking here about 37 boxes of laminate that she carted up plus sheets of plywood, 2x4's etc. Then she got sick last week with a very nasty flu bug while they were laying the floor.

Needless to say that when she was finally able to go back to work and went in to see her finished apartment on Thursday night she was a little upset and overwhelmed when she found a thick layer of dirt and dust on everything in the apartment. See first photo.

She had to go to Shelburne today for clinic so her Dad and I took pity on her and went over and cleaned up for her. What a mess! We were there from 10:00 until 3:00 scrubbing, mopping and vacuuming. See second picture for the difference. This is her bathroom but just the pictures of her bathroom shelves will give you an idea of the difference.
Mama was discharged from the Shelburne Hospital on Thursday and moved into a residential care facility in Shelburne called Mary's Abide-a-While. She seems to be settling in okay. She has a roommate and there are about 16 residents in the house. They each are responsible for their own personal care such as washing up in the morning and dressing but their meals and everything are done for them. Will keep you posted on how things go with her.
I am just about ready for bed as I am so tired tonight. Ralph is going to watch the hockey game and San has the other tv so I think I will go to bed and "read". :)
