April Fools Day

Well here it is April Fools Day again. Now that we have no kids at home we don't get April fooled anymore or so it seems. Ralph is right now out in the garage putting together the new barbecue that we bought today at Zellers midnight madness sale. We weren't there at midnight because it actually started at 6:00 p.m.

I have been to Ontario to see Trish and Charlie and Joe. I hadn't seen the baby since he was seven days old so there is quite a difference in him lol. He can smile and follow you around the room. Oh he is the sweetest, I just wish he was closer.

Here is a pic of me and Charlie. Someone said that they thought he looked like Ralph. What do you think? I just love being a grandmother in case any of you who read this cannot tell. I am sure you all know that I will be a grandmother again in October with San and Andrew. They are expecting their first then. They went today to hear the heartbeat for the first time. Exciting times for sure. It hardly seems possible that two Christmases ago I had no grandchildren and this Christmas I will have two!!! Yeah!!!

Ralph is certainly enjoying his retirement so far. He cannot find enough time in the day to do what he wants. I can see what he means. I got back from Ontario on Tuesday and decided to take the rest of the week off work. The day goes so fast. I don't seem to turn around and it is afternoon. I can't wait to retire too!

February Musings

Well here is another picture of Charlie. I have to stop putting up pictures and talking about him so much.....no, no, I don't. This is my blog so I can talk about him as much as I want. :-)

Just got off the phone with Flo. She is down in Florida. She has been there for the month of February. The weather has been terrible she says. Cold, much colder than they were expecting for this time of year. She said that she wishes she had bought more long sleeve outfits.

Ralph is in Greenwood in the Annapolis Valley this weekend at a curling Bonspiel. He called me at work today to say that they had lost their first two games so he may be home tomorrow night instead of Sunday night.

San and I are going to Toronto to Trish's on March 24th for a week. Can't wait. We are flying Porter Airlines for the first time. We will see how they are.

Was up to South Branch a couple of Sundays ago. Mom and Louise are doing good. Ralph has been scouting out the second hand bookstores and picking them up the Bobbsey Twin Books and Anne of Green Gable books. Louise reads a chapter from one of the books each night to Mom and she really enjoys that . Last Sunday when we were there Mom said that she had made Louise read two chapters one night that week because Freddie (one of the Bobbsey twins) had fallen off his bike and knocked himself out so Mom had to find out how he fared :-)

We had Louise's famous homemade pizza for lunch. It is so good. Don't remember how many pieces Ralph had. We had some snow on Wednesday. Workplaces and all schools were shut down. We got about 37 centimetres here in Halifax but it has melted a lot in the last two days as the temperature has stayed above 2 degrees both days.

Ralph is certainly enjoying retirement. He is curling anywhere from 4-7 times a week. He also is quite involved with the Legion, Citizens on Patrol and the Air Force Association so he keeps busy. I think that Jake is enjoying having him home also. Ralph left for Greenwood yesterday and Jake spent the night staring at me as if he was saying "Where's Ralph?" :-)

Take care everyone and we will talk again soon.

Well it's about time I came back

I know, I know....I'm sorry to all of those (probably all two of you , lol) who haven't been updated lately but I have been putting everything on Facebook and I know some of you don't go there. So here we go.

Charlie is here!!!! Charles Anthony MacMillan was born on December 20, 2010 and weighed in at a sturdy 9 pounds 1 oz. He is almost a month old now, well he will be four weeks this Sunday and he is growing like a weed.

I got there for the birth and stayed a week which took us over Christmas. Ralph came on two days before Christmas and we both flew home on the 27th.

I miss him but we have a webcam now so we skype each other at least twice a week so I can see the little puddin' then. Last night he slept through the whole session though. As you can see from the picture at the top of my blog San is up with Tricia right now. She is there until next Wednesday and then San and I are going back up again at the end of March. Then Joe, Trish and Charlie will be home for a month this summer so we will get to see them just not all the time.

Thank heavens we live in this age of computer. With the webcam it is almost like being there as I can see him grow. I can hear them and talk to them and they can see and talk to me the only thing I can't do is hold my little Charlie lol.

Ralph is upstairs getting ready to go to the Curling rink again. I told him tonight he might as well move his bed out to the Sackville Curling Club lol.

Hasn't been too bad a winter so far. Got some snow after Christmas which hasn't had a chance to melt but the last two weeks have been almost precipitation free. I shouldn't have posted that you know now we will get a big snowstorm.

San's wedding will be here before I know it. July 24th is the big day. Trish will be standing with her. San, my niece Donna and a co-worker of mine from work, Jane, are all going to New York in May for four days. Can't wait. We will have a great time I am sure.
Talk again soon. Hope everyone had a great holiday, we sure did we got the best Christmas present ever.
