You know I really should try to write something intelligent on this blog. Something of interest to a wide variety of people not just my family. Oh well..... I thought about it and decided no, I'll just keep on writing about what I know about which is what is happening around here.
Ralph finished painting the deck today. It looks really nice. Jake gets to go for short walks now and he is happy about that by the looks of him. San is over for the night. Her and I are going to go for a jog after our supper settles here. Yes you heard right. Doris is going to jog. San started it by joining a running club to learn how to run properly so she convinced me to get off the treadmill and give the slow, very slow, running outside a chance. So far, so good. I only do two miles and I walk for a minute in between bouts of jogging.
I registered for the 2 mile Natal Day road race. San, Ralph and I are doing it. Poor Ralph is beside himself. He never thought that he would see his wife and daughter trying to run that's for sure.
Joe and Trish have gone out to supper tonight as they did not want what we were having which was fried haddock and oven roasted vegetables. San and I saved our local strawberries to have after we come back from jogging. It's been muggy here the last couple days so I guess we are going to get rain soon. Ralph is going fishing up Stewiacke way tomorrow. I took a day's holidays and am going to try and catch up on housework, plant some flowers, laze around, read etc. etc.
Must go and change and get ready to go.

Yeah, the rain went away!!!

Beautiful day here today. Velvet, Donna and I went "yardsaleing" all morning and then this afternoon after picking up Sandra and Donna's son Barret we have all come out here to have a barbecue, a cool one and as you can see from the picture a game or two of Bocce. Apparently Velvet won.
Ralph is on a fishing trip to Newfoundland. I think that it was his Father's Day gift to himself. This is the second year that he has gone. They caught the midnight ferry on Thursday. Haven't heard from him but didn't expect to. All of the girls are getting up early again tomorrow morning to go to the Sackville flea market.
Enjoy the beautiful weather we are finally having.

Rain, rain go away!!!
Okay, I've had enough. If it continues to rain , shower, be foggy and cold here in Nova Scotia I am going to have to pack my bags and move to Alberta with everyone else. Okay, maybe I exaggerate a little, I won't move but this weather is making more than myself wonder why we continue to live in this part of the world. We are having such a cold, rainy Spring here. Same as last year if I remember correctly. It has been so long since we have seen the sun that we are all getting mildewed.
Sandra, Ralph and I drove down to Shelburne and Barrington this morning. It was a horrible and dangerous drive what with the fog and pouring rain. Apparently it was too much for some as on our way home we were detoured off the 103 between exits 5 and 6 because of an earlier accident. Must have been a doozy as the road was closed off for a good portion of the day.
Tonight, there is not much going on here. San is in the living room watching a movie, Ralph is in the family room watching T.V. and Joe and Tricia are in the basement watching a movie. That only leaves the tiny little t.v. up in our bedroom for me so I guess that is where I will be going lol.
Jake had a tick on him tonight. I don't know how Ralph ever saw it with all of his fur but he did. It was just above his eye. Thankfully Ralph was able to pull it off. We had no idea that ticks were even in this part of the province but apparently they are. Ralph is going to ask the Vet when he takes Jake in for his checkup on Wednesday why the Sentinel pill that Jake takes for flea control would not also repell ticks.
Ralph was in Winnipeg all week and this week coming he leaves on Thursday for a fishing trip to Newfoundland with his winter Curling team.
Must be nice to have so much time off work. Oh well someday I will be in that position, but not for a while. Still have to keep bringing in the bacon (and cooking it too).

It' June already
So I just spoke to Jake and asked him what new we had to talk about on this blog and since he did not say anything I quess there is not much going on to update everyone on. Let's see.... Jake's knee is getting better every day. He goes for his final checkup next week and hopefully they will tell us then that he can start to take walks etc.
Ralph left for Winnipeg this morning which is where he will be all week. Tricia and Joe are back at the house after spending two weeks in Dartmouth. San was out for the weekend , Tricia and I dropped her off at her apartment on our way to work this morning. San and I went to see the DaVinci Code on Friday night. I really liked it. I thought that it stayed pretty true to the book. It is an interesting concept that the book and movie puts forth. It has certainly got people talking anyways.
It is muggy here tonight but God knows it cannot rain anymore. It poured from Friday until this morning. I saw our neighbours out building an ark for heavens sake that is how bad it was, lol.
So having said what I have just said you can see that I really had nothing to talk about today. Maybe my life will get more exciting in the days ahead and I will have more to say.
