Thought that I had better get on here and update this blog before San gets on before me, haha. What a gorgeous day we had again today. Bright sunshine and nice temperatures and it is the last day of November so we cannot complain.
Be sure and have a look at Ethel's blog (www.mikeysplace2.blogspot.com) to see the progress on the deck. Nice work George. Well Ralph and I are back in the swing of things after our week in Toronto. Ralph has been curling Monday night and last night and they won both games. Because his team lost all of their games while he was away they got teased that it was the old guy that was helping them win.
Jake had daycare today and Ralph had his guitar lesson. I guess that he has decided that maybe a new guitar for Christmas would be a good idea as the one he has now ( mine from 30 years ago) is killing his fingers. Santa will have to go look for one now.
So Willy Nelson is coming to Halifax in May. I am sure Ralph will want to see him as he has already seen Dolly Parton and George Jones so far this year. Ralph will finally get to use the Christmas present I gave him last year, tickets to the curling Olympic trials that are starting this Saturday. He can go to each draw so I don't expect to see much of him next week. That is okay though because I have two final exams, one on Thursday night and one on Friday night. San and I are going to the Rankin girls Christmas concert this Friday night.
My sister Velvet will be coming on Wednesday with her oldest son Christopher who will be sworn in to the Canadian Armed Forces on Thursday morning. You can bet that Chief Warrant Officer Murphy will be there to proudly watch him join up.
Well I must go and wake up Ralph and Jake. They are both upstairs sleeping. One is on the couch and one is on the floor. I will leave it up to you to guess which is where.

Finally I am posting again
I know, I know. All I can say is that between school, work and getting ready for Christmas and going to Toronto I have been a little busy. But I am here now and since I took a day's holiday today to finish a paper and to clean house before I go to Toronto I have time to update this blog also. So what do I want to tell you today.
First of all Happy Birthday today to my baby sister, Velvet. You're catching up to me kid, lol. As most of you know my office has moved to the Bayers Lake Park where all of the big box stores are here in Halifax. Of course this means that I spend every lunch hour visiting these stores especially this time of the year. In the last two months they have opened an Old Navy, HomeSense, Lane Furniture, Linens and Things and I hear on December 1st a Michael's Craft store is opening.
Here is the Internet addresses for two sites that I thought might be of interest to you. This site www.aliant.net. is a great place to go and get pictures of the Maritime provinces to use as wallpaper on your computer. On the home page just scroll down and on the right you will see the photo gallery. They have some pretty pictures there. For those of you curious as to what our weather might be at any time you can check out the highway webcams at http://www.gov.ns.ca/tran/cameras/camera.asp.
Well I can't think of anything else to say. Ralph and I are leaving on Saturday for Toronto to stay with Ethel for a week. Perhaps Ethel will let me use her computer and if so I will update this blog from there.
Ta ta for now.

Getting dark early

Happy late Hallowe'en everyone. The picture is of pumpkins on Dan and Sandi Petitpas's front porch in Borden, P.E.I. Aren't they great? I didn't get the copyright permission to post them here so I hope that Sandi and Dan are okay with it. If not, Danny yell at Ralph. HaHa.
So it's November 1st and you know what that means. We can start playing Christmas music. Yeah!!!! I love Christmas music. I think that my favourite is Burl Ives but I like all of Rosie O'Donnell's Christmas CD also. Speaking of Christmas music San and I are going to see the Rankin sisters sing at the Rebecca Cohn on December 2nd. Christmas craft sale at the Forum this weekend which San and I will be attending on Friday night. Guess where Ralph will be while we are there? At a George Jones concert at the Metro Center. He is not half excited. He knows everyone of this man's songs and he sings along with him in the truck everytime he is in it.
Hello to Ethel and all of the other good folk in Ontario. Beautiful weather here in the East. 16 degrees Celsius in the sunshine here in Halifax today. Has anyone ever heard of the Ashley Furniture Homestore? That is the sign on the new building that they are building in Bayers Lake , not far from where I work. They have just opened an Old Navy and a Homesense store. More and more going in there everyday. I spend everything I earn on my lunch break.
