So we have been waiting for just the right weekend weather wise to go to Flo's cottage for the weekend. Well we didn't quite get the weather right but we enjoyed it nevertheless. When we left Halifax on Friday morning the tail end of Tropical Depression Beryl was about to hit. It followed us to PEI and we had rain and wind all day Friday and Friday evening. Saturday dawned not so promising but by lunchtime Donna and I were sunning on the deck and Flo, Fred, Ralph and Velvet had gone for a boat ride out to the Dunes.
We started our first annual Special Olympics when we got back. Three teams, Donna and Velvet, Flo and I and Ralph and Fred. We played Ring Toss, Bocca Ball and a card game called 99. Team with the highest points in all three won. This year the winners were Ralph and Fred with a two point lead over Flo and I and Velvet and Donna got the Bronze medal. We are already gearing up for next year as everyone wants to win the Gold..haha.
Flo took some pictures on Saturday so here is a couple. Doesn't Ralph look some cute in the kayak. He said that it was easy to row and not tipsy at all. I may try it next time.
The other pic is while we were playing Ring Toss. All in all a good time was had by all as it always is when we go "play on my Island".
